My name is Keyli Malay, and I am currently a freshman at the University of Nevada, Reno. I plan to major in marketing, and my goal is to become a social media manager for a fashion company. Eventually, I hope to open my own clothing store or salon/spa.
Although I was born and raised in Reno, I would love to move to Chicago or New York for new career opportunities and a lifestyle that is very different from what I’ve always known. My dad earned his master’s degree in accounting from UNR when I was young, and seeing his accomplishments motivated me to follow a similar path in higher education.
In addition to being a full-time student, I work at Starbucks. I’ve met some of my closest friends there, and I hope to earn a promotion in the near future. I’m confident that my dedication, strong work ethic, and customer service skills would allow me to excel in a higher position.
During my free time, I enjoy shopping—whether it’s for clothes, makeup, or even groceries. I also love baking and cooking, especially when it comes to chocolate chip cookies. Going to the gym is another favorite activity of mine. More than anything, I value spending time with my friends, even if we aren’t doing anything in particular.
Some of my short-term goals include studying abroad in Italy during my sophomore year, becoming a Big in my sorority, Sigma Kappa, and moving out on my own. In the long term, I hope to build my own home, become a mother, and run my own business.
